Strip Emoji

What gets removed
- All
\p{Extended_Pictographic}chars — 😀 🎉 💻 and friends - ZWJ sequences — 👨👩👧👦 (family), 👩🏽💻 (skin tone + profession)
- Variation selectors U+FE00–U+FE0F — the FE0F in ☀️ turns ☀ from a black-and-white glyph into the colored form
- Regional indicators U+1F1E6–U+1F1FF — flags like 🇨🇳 are two of these letters; without this branch they'd leak through
When to use
WeChat OA, some enterprise editors, and plain-text logging / email surfaces don't render emoji (or render them as tofu boxes). Run text through this tool first, then paste into the destination.
